ColoRectal and Small Intestine Surgery
We treat a wide variety of colon and rectal conditions, from appendicitis, diverticulitis, polyps and cancers, to inflammatory bowel disease, trauma and a variety of conditions affecting the small intestine. Many of our cases are done with minimally invasive techniques, using a thin camera and instruments. We also treat hemorrhoids, fissures, abscesses and other anorectal problems. We work closely with gastroenterologists in the Eugene-Springfield area to come up with a comprehensive treatment plan for each patient.
Specialized techniques used:
Laproscopic Assisted Surgery
Transanal Resection of Tumors
Endocrine Surgery
We are dedicated to providing state-of-the-art care to our patients with surgical disorders of the thyroid gland and parathyroid glands. We routinely use intro-operative rapid parathyroid hormone levels and radio-guided techniques, which help to ensure the operation is minimally invasive. Our focus is not only on a safe and effective operation, but also on minimizing pain, improving recovery times and minimizing scar formation. With an active interest in endocrine surgery, our providers strive to include both the science and the art in the way we provide care for our patients.
Specialized techniques used:
NIMS: An electronic method of locating and monitoring the recurrent laryngeal nerve during surgery
Intro-operative PTH: A laboratory method to rapidly determine the completeness of parathyroid adenoma removal
Neoprobe Targeted Surgery: A radionucleotide-aided method of locating parathyroid glands and tumors
