General Surgery
General surgery is a discipline that requires knowledge of and responsibility for the preoperative, operative, and postoperative management of patients with a broad spectrum of diseases, including those which may require nonoperative, elective, or emergency surgical treatment. General Surgery operations may include: hernia, gallbladder/bile ducts, colon, small intestine, breast, thyroid and parathyroid surgery.
In-office procedures
Many conditions lend themselves to be treated in our office under local anesthesia. Without the effects of sedation this gives the patient the advantage of having the procedure at a lower cost than in a hospital or surgery center. We have a surgery room specifically designed for this purpose. In-office procedures may include biopsies, “lump” and lipoma removal, wound care, and treatment of selected infections requiring surgery. State of the art Breast Mammosite radiation catheter procedures are done in our office. When appropriate we will discuss the possibility of office-based surgery and determine if this is the best course of care based on best practices and your interests.
Breast Surgery
We offer comprehensive management of benign and malignant conditions of the breast. We focus on multidisciplinary care of breast cancer. We team with radiology for image-guided surgery. We coordinate with medical oncology for genetic testing and neoadjuvant chemotherapy. We partner with plastic surgeons to perform skin and nipple sparing mastectomy as well as oncoplastic reconstruction. Our efforts with radiation oncology can shorten the interval of postoperative radiation. We also address benign tumors, breast risk reduction, infections, pain and nipple symptoms.
